It is thought to have been built in 1751. 「D&DEPARTMENT KAGOSHIMA by MARUYA」さんで開催中の「種子鋏のもののまわり-種子島の鋏と庖丁-」で、ヤクタネゴヨウプロジェクトの一環で製作したヤクタネゴヨウ包丁をご紹介いただける運びとなりました。 企画展は2025/5/8〜6/3で開催中です。 もしよろしければ足をお運びください。 【ヤクタネゴヨウプロジェクトとは】 ヤクタネゴヨウは、屋久島および種子島にのみ自生するマツの固有種であり、絶滅危惧種とされています。古くから丸木舟の材料として使われており、この木で作った船は100年使えると言われています。 枯れて倒木したヤクタネゴヨウを受け継ぎ、島の職人とアーティストと共に、暮らしの道具に変えて、島の風景と共に皆様にお届けします。 We are pleased to announce that the Yakutane Goyo knife, which was produced as part of the Yakutane Goyo Project, will be introduced at the exhibition "Tanehabasa no Mono no Mawari - Tanegashima Scissors and Knives" currently being held at "D&DEPARTMENT KAGOSHIMA by MARUYA". The exhibition will be held from May 8th to June 3rd, 2025. Please come and visit it if you are interested! [What is the Yakutane Goyo Project?] Yakutane Goyo is an endemic species of pine that grows only on Yakushima and Tanegashima, and is considered an endangered species. It has long been used as a material for dugout canoes, and it has been said that boats made from this wood can last 100 years. This year we start by addressing the theme of the forest. In particular the Yakutanegoyo type, which is on the verge of extinction. We are involved in the end of the life cycle of a single withered tree, applying design to the functioning of the forest and spreading its characteristics. 【池田旅館】 種子島西之表市の池田旅館。 2023 年、Lamp は種子島の歴史的建造物、 昭和の時代から親しまれてきた池田旅館を 引き継がせて頂きました。 島の職人によって、 新たに命を吹き込まれた木製建具。 Ikeda Ryokan in Nishinoomote City, Tanegashima Island. In 2023 Lamp took over this old ryokan, in order to give to an historical building of Tanegashima a second life.
